Ahmedabad: A 19-year-old youth was stabbed to death in Behrampura on Saturday night following a petty dispute near his residence.The victim, Himesh Parmar, was stabbed multiple times near Hiralaxmi Flats, close to Parmar Dawakhana and Anand Vidhyalaya, around 9.30pm. He sustained stab injuries to the chest, right hand and the right side of the abdomen. He was shifted to LG Hospital in Maninagar, where doctors declared him dead during treatment at around 10.25pm on Saturday.The case was handed over to the city crime branch, which detained two persons, including a 17-year-old juvenile, for their alleged involvement in the murder. The second accused was identified as Gautam Solanki, 19. Both were traced through technical surveillance and local inputs soon after the offence was registered.According to the complaint lodged by the victim’s uncle, Shailesh Parmar, a resident of Garibnagar in Behrampura, he received a phone call from a friend around 9.45pm informing him that Himesh was attacked by an unidentified person.The caller told him that Himesh was lying injured near Hiralaxmi Flats. While he was on his way to the spot, he received another call stating that Himesh was being taken to a hospital.Police said the attack took place in a public area and the assailant fled after inflicting multiple stab wounds. An offence of murder was registered with Kagdapith police on Saturday. During the investigation, officers found that the victim objected to the accused loitering and creating a disturbance near his house. Police said this led to a dispute. According to police, the juvenile travelled to Chotila in Surendranagar district recently, from where he procured a knife that was later used in the assault.Crime branch officials said the accused were located within hours of the attack and taken into custody. Efforts are on to recover the weapon and verify further details related to the sequence of events.Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain the complete circumstances leading to the murder.
