Ahmedabad: Two persons, including a 16-year-old boy, died in separate road accidents involving buses in the city on Thursday, police said.In the first accident, Imdadul Shaikh (16), a resident of Ganeshnagar near Torrent Power House on Piplaj-Narol Road, was killed after a bus rammed into a two-wheeler near Piplaj-Pirana Road around 8.30pm. According to police, Imdadul was riding pillion on his friend Sameer’s scooter when a speeding bus hit the scooter. While Sameer sustained injuries in the collision, Imdadul was crushed under the bus wheels and died on the spot. His father, Chandbhai Sheikh, lodged a complaint at the K-Traffic police station.In another accident the same evening, Vira Solanki (49), a resident of Behrampura, died after being hit by a bus near the Vasant Rajab Crossroads in Behrampura at around 6pm. Police said the bus, allegedly driven at high speed, knocked him down and ran over him. Solanki was rushed to LG Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. His brother, Suresh Solanki, filed a complaint of causing death by negligent driving with the K-Traffic police station.Police registered cases in both accidents and initiated investigations into the role of the bus drivers. Inspector F L Rathod of the K-Traffic police station is probing the cases.
