T’puram: In a suspected case of suicide, a 14-year-old schoolgirl was found dead in her bedroom at her residence in Kadakkal, Kollam on Sunday. The deceased was a Class IX student.According to family members, the girl went to her room to study as usual. Around noon, her grandmother went to call her for lunch but found the girl lying motionless on the floor. Shocked by the scene, she immediately alerted the family. The family rushed the girl to a private hospital in Kadakkal, but doctors declared her brought dead. The exact cause of death remains unknown. Police said a clearer picture would emerge only after the autopsy, which is being conducted at Medical College Hospital, Parippally. Kadakkal police registered a case of unnatural death. According to police, the preliminary probe suggested it was suicide by hanging. However, police began a detailed probe.Suicides are preventable and help is just a phone call away.
