Mapusa: Mandrem police have registered a case against five individuals for allegedly restraining and assaulting a 36-year-old taxi driver outside a resort in Ashvem on Friday.According to the complaint filed by Sattari resident Salim Tumbagi, the incident occurred around 12.30pm when he was on his way to pick up guests from the Dallas Beach Resort.Tumbagi alleged that five individuals blocked his vehicle. The situation escalated when one of the suspects slapped him.Another individual forcibly opened the driver-side door, snatched the vehicle’s keys, and struck the complainant on his right shoulder with them, causing minor injuries.Police have identified and questioned two suspects — Ashvem resident Tulshidas and Parcem resident Yogesh Atmaram Shivji.Other suspects remain at large. Head constable Mahesh Gaonkar is further investigating this case.
