CHENNAI: A day after AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami finalized seat allocations for allies and launched his campaign in Chennai, three DMK ministers unleashed a coordinated attack on him on Thursday. While transport minister SS Sivasankar targeted EPS for his alliance with BJP, HR&CE minister P K Sekarbabu attacked the former chief minister for alleging that DMK has neglected Chennai. School education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, meanwhile, slammed AIADMK ally BJP for the LPG shortage. Sivasankar told reporters in Chennai that BJP was ‘dictating every move’ of Palaniswami. “No matter how much he tries to mask it, every announcement by Palaniswami carries the script written by Amit Shah,” Sivasankar said.He said Palaniswami was criticizing the DMK alliance only to divert attention from challenges within his own front. “Leaders in his alliance admit that decisions are taken after visiting Delhi, which shows who is actually in control,” he said.Sekarbabu said Chennai suffered floods during the AIADMK rule, while DMK has solved the issue. “During floods and even Covid, Palaniswami and his ministers remained indoors leaving people to suffer,” Sekarbabu said. He also accused Palaniswami of “double standards” on family politics. “How can he speak about family politics while having Anbumani and G K Vasan on his side,” Sekarbabu asked.Anbil Mahesh said the BJP govt failed in its foreign policy. “There is no action on LPG shortage, but only fearmongering from the PM,” he said on X.
