CHENNAI: A senior MDMK leader on Thursday expressed dissatisfaction over the party being allotted only four seats and being asked to contest under the DMK’s ‘rising sun’ symbol in three of those seats.MDMK presidium chairman A Arjunaraj, who held the second round of talks with DMK to finalize the constituencies for his party, told reporters that the party was unhappy with the number of seats allotted as well as the symbol.
“We are happy with DMK giving us the seats that we requested. But we are unhappy with the number of seats as the allotment fails to match our strength. We are also unhappy with the fact that we would not be able to contest in all the four constituencies allotted to us in our own symbol,” Arjunaraj said. “We are weeping, but with a smile,’’ he said recalling a Tamil song.In the 2021 Assembly election, MDMK contested six seats in the DMK’s symbol and won four.
