Mohali: Tamanna of Saraswati Senior Secondary School, Jaito (Faridkot), has secured the first position in the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Class VIII exams with a perfect score (100%).Japneet Kaur of Govt Middle School, Arkwas (Sangrur), secured the second position with 598 marks (99.67%), while Jashandeep Kaur of Sant Mohan Das Memorial Senior Secondary School, Kot Sukhia (Faridkot), stood third with 598 marks (99.67%). As per board norms, the younger candidate was awarded the higher rank in case of a tie, said PSEB chairman Dr Amarpal Singh. The Punjab School Education Board declared the Class 8 results for the academic session 2025-2026 on Friday. This year, a total of 2,62,966 students from 10,422 schools appeared in the examination, out of which 2,53,789 students were promoted, taking the overall pass percentage to 96.51%. Notably, students from Faridkot and Sangrur districts dominated the top ranks, with two of the top three positions going to Faridkot schools. Dr Amarpal Singh said the examinations were conducted with greater rigour and transparency this year. He added that the Board is committed to further improving the quality of question papers and curriculum to enhance learning outcomes in future examinations. The detailed results are available on the official PSEB website and other result portals. Students who were not promoted will have the opportunity to appear in supplementary examinations scheduled for June 2026. The application process and schedule for these exams will be communicated separately through school logins and official notifications.
