AGRA: An 80-year-old man was found tied to the front seat and left alone in a parked car near the western gate of the Taj Mahal in Agra while his family from Maharashtra went for sightseeing on Thursday. The octogenarian — frail and in critical condition in the afternoon heat and humidity — was noticed by parking lot staff, who broke the vehicle’s window to rescue him.Kunwar Singh, inspector of tourism police, said, “A staff member on duty at the parking lot came running towards us and said an elderly person, who seemed to be in an unconscious state, was left alone inside a car. The vehicle had a Maharashtra number plate. Six people, who were in it, had left to see the Taj. Police and ambulance services were alerted.”

“Soon, a medical team arrived. After a health check, they advised urgent medical attention at a hospital, the matter is now under investigation and the family’s details are being collected,” Singh said.Curious passersby and tourists gathered at the parking lot. A few people also started making videos, which later began circulating on social media. Hearing the commotion outside, the family returned to the parking lot.
