Ludhiana: In a dramatic confrontation caught on camera, a local money changer successfully repelled two armed robbers by brandishing a sword after the masked men attempted to storm his shop in Ganesh Nagar on Friday night. The incident has ignited fresh outrage among Ludhiana’s business community, who claim law and order in the city has gone “haywire” amid a surge in daylight heists and snatchings. The target, Neeraj Tiwari, was inside his Janakpuri shop at approximately 9:10 PM when two men on a motorcycle pulled up. One suspect produced a handgun and demanded the day’s cash through the security grill.“I refused to hand it over, and they threatened me with dire consequences,” Tiwari said. “They started vandalizing the door and smashing the window glass to barge in. Thankfully, the iron grill held.” Refusing to back down, Tiwari grabbed a sword kept for protection and dared the robbers to enter. The sight of the weapon, combined with a gathering crowd of neighboring shopkeepers, forced the duo to flee the scene.
