Gurgaon: A 24-year-old man died after his SUV crashed into a dumper truck on Pali-Surajkund road in Faridabad on Sunday afternoon while he was trying to avoid a stray animal that came in front of his vehicle.The deceased, Mayank Bhadana, was a resident of Anangpur village and worked as a property dealer. Police said he was alone in the vehicle at the time of the accident.According to police, Mayank left his home on Sunday afternoon and was heading towards Gurgaon in his Defender SUV. “A stray animal suddenly appeared on the road, and while trying to avoid hitting it, he lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a dumper that was parked along the roadside,” an officer said.The impact was severe, leaving the front portion of the vehicle badly damaged and the bonnet completely crushed. The airbags deployed during the collision, but Mayank sustained critical injuries.Passers-by who witnessed the accident informed the police. A team from Surajkund police station reached the spot and pulled Mayank out of the damaged vehicle. “He was rushed to a nearby private hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival,” the officer added.Police have initiated an investigation and recorded statements of witnesses to ascertain the circumstances that led to the crash. Further legal proceedings are underway under BNSS Section 194 (inquest proceedings).
