Chennai: M Sundaresan, the suspended deputy superintendent of police (DSP) of the Mayiladuthurai Prohibition Enforcement Wing (PEW), was admitted to the Govt Royapettah Hospital on Wednesday after complaining of chest pain. He is currently under medical observation while facing disciplinary proceedings for violating conduct rules.Sundaresan was placed under suspension for giving public interviews accusing senior officers of depriving him of his official vehicle for ulterior reasons, harassment and misconduct.The department released details of pending cases against Sundaresan. He again addressed the media, stating that those cases had been fabricated to malign him. The state home department subsequently placed him under suspension for breaching official conduct regulations.On Wednesday morning, Sundaresan reported chest pain. His family took him to Royapettah Govt Hospital, where a team of doctors is monitoring his condition. An officer said, “Sundaresan’s medical condition is being treated separately while the inquiry into his conduct continues as per standard procedure.”
