Kolkata: Sushil Poddar, president of the Confederation of West Bengal Trade Association (CWBTA), has been elected as the chairperson of the West Bengal Traders’ Welfare Board (WBTWB). Chief minister Mamata Banerjee had tweeted about the formation of this welfare board last week.The CM had constituted a 44-member board representing traders from all districts, including Kolkata. The other members of the board include Narendra Kapadia, Pradeep Luhariwala, J L Bardia, C K Varadarajan, Dinesh Jain Gangwal, S K Choraria, Binod Kumar Sancheti, and Dhiman Das, along with others.The state govt established this board to create a structured platform for engagement with the trading community. It will include senior representatives from key departments of the state, including the Finance Department, MSME & Textiles Department, Industry, Commerce & Enterprises Department, Labour Department, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs Department, Consumer Affairs Department, and Fire & Emergency Services Department.
