Gorakhpur: Sumit Kumar has assumed charge as the chief public relations officer (CPRO) of North Eastern Railway on Thursday. Prior to this, he was serving as the deputy chief commercial manager (FM) at the NER headquarters.Meanwhile, outgoing CPRO Pankaj Kumar Singh has been posted as Senior Divisional Engineer (Coordination) in the Lucknow division of NER. Sumit Kumar, a postgraduate (MSc) from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University (2007), joined the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) in 2010. He began his career in railways as an assistant operations manager in Katihar division of Northeast Frontier Railway.
