Bengaluru: In a strange goof-up, a II PU student was awarded a total of 683 marks out of 600 in the results published Thursday. Following this, Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board provided a clarification Friday that the mistake was due to a technical fault. The marks obtained out of 80 by private candidates and repeaters of 2024 and 2025 batches needed to be converted to a scale of 100. According to the department, a technical error in the programming process resulted in the discrepancy.KSEAB then published the revised marks, which it asked students to consider as the final marks.“The board expresses regret for the inconvenience caused due to the technical error. It is also clarified that there is no discrepancy in the results of students appearing for the 2026 examination,” the board’s statement said.
