Mangaluru: Although Brahmasri Narayana Guru was born in Kerala, his movement gained fame worldwide. His thoughts and philosophies are universal, and like Sri Krishna, Buddha, and Jesus Christ, Narayana Guru is considered a ‘Vishwa Guru’, said Swami Sathchidananda, president, Sivagiri Mutt.He gave his blessings on Saturday at a religious programme following the ‘Namma Nadige Sri Guruvinedege – Kudroli Teerthaatane’, held in memory of the social and religious revolution led by social reformer Brahmasri Narayana Guru, who consecrated the Shivalinga at Kudroli Gokarnanatha Temple, Kudroli, in 1912.
Narayana Guru temples exist in 10 states in the USA, as well as in London and Fiji. He has millions of followers across various states in India. The Pope of the Christian faith referred to Narayana Guru as a world teacher. A Narayana Guru conference took place in the Australian Parliament, and Sivagiri Mutt received the Global Peace Prize from Australia, the seer noted.Sri Brahmananda Saraswati Swami of Sri Kshetra Kanyadi, Sri Eeshavittaldas Swami of Sri Kshetra Kemaru, and Sri Mohanadas Swami of Sri Kshetra Manila also spoke.Other attendees included Sri Vikhyatananda Swami of Soluru Mutt, Sri Brahmananda Saraswati Swami of Kanyadi Shri Rama Mahasansthan, Sri Arunanda Swami of Sivagiri Mutt.MLC and senior Congress leader, BK Hariprasad, and former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake participated in the programme.
