Kanpur: As many as 255 sports-talented children from economically weaker sections were tested and examined by coaches under the close supervision of a coordination committee at TSH in Kanpur on Thursday.The trials were conducted to select players for the 8th batch under the Sports Promotion Scholarship/subsidy scheme. Candidates first underwent physical fitness and aptitude tests in groups of five followed by skill test according to their respective sports. The members of the coordination committee were Jagdish Yadav, Mukesh Kumar Verama, Amit Yadav, Sanjiv Pathak, Devesh Dubey and Rajiv Garg.TSH provided free sports coaching to talented children from economically weaker sections. So far, 1,734 children were trained in seven batches.
