Srinagar, July 23: A road accident occurred in the Rawatpora area of Baghat, Srinagar on Tuesday, when a white Hyundai i20 car bearing registration number JK01AX 0539 rammed into an electric pole at high speed.
According to police officials, the incident took place due to reckless driving. The driver, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, fled the scene immediately after the crash, leaving the vehicle behind.
Following the incident, Saddar Police Station has registered an FIR under Sections 125(A) and 325(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The vehicle involved has been seized by authorities, and a thorough investigation has been initiated.
No casualties have been reported in the incident. However, the impact caused minor damage to public infrastructure, and the authorities are tracing the absconding driver.
