Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has appealed to leaders of all Sikh organisations to attend the panthic gathering convened on April 6, to deliberate on the law being framed by the govt to prevent incidents of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib.In a release issued here on Sunday, SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami said the gathering would be held at Teja Singh Samundri Hall, the SGPC’s headquarters.Dhami said this was an extremely important and sensitive issue for the entire community, and it is necessary to develop a collective panthic opinion after consulting all Sikh organisations.He further said Guru Granth Sahib was the eternal Guru of the Sikhs, and all aspects of any proposed law concerning it should be discussed in detail. The panthic meeting has been convened with a clear and sincere intent by the SGPC, Dhami added.He informed that invitation letters had already been sent to all Sikh organisations, including Nihang Singh groups, Damdami Taksal, Sikh institutions, Sikh scholars, Sikh judges and lawyers, Sikh missionary colleges, Singh Sabhas, Sikh federations, heads of all Sikh sects, as well as Nirmalas, Udasis, Sewapanthis, Kar Sewa groups, and other prominent Sikh bodies.MSID:: 130038941 413 |
