Sidel, a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions, proudly announced the successful debut of its Synergy brand at ProPak Asia 2025, held from 11 to 14 June in Bangkok, Thailand. A major highlight of the showcase was the unveiling of an 8-cavity rotary blower, designed and manufactured in India to meet the unique demands of emerging markets.
The Synergy portfolio, wholly owned by Sidel, is designed to meet the rising demand in regions such as Southeast Asia, the Indian subcontinent, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. Designed to provide scalable and cost-effective packaging solutions, Synergy empowers small and mid-sized bottlers to launch operations affordably and smoothly transition to Sidel’s high-speed global lines as they grow.
“The Synergy brand, although 100% owned by Sidel, is a dedicated solution for fast-growing emerging markets. It offers the right balance between performance, affordability, and scalability,” said Mr. Harbinder Kathuria, vice president – Regional SKA (Strategic Key Accounts), Asia, Oceania & Africa, in an exclusive conversation with FoodTechBiz.
“This new rotary blower addresses a sweet spot in the medium-speed segment and provides an ideal stepping-stone for bottlers who can later scale up to high-speed Sidel solutions.”
A dual portfolio presence
At ProPak Asia 2025, Sidel presented both its global high-speed technologies and the Synergy range, addressing the full spectrum of customer needs — from PET, glass, and can lines to aseptic.
“We are not just showing a machine, we are presenting a philosophy of inclusive growth,” Mr Kathuria added. “Whether it’s can lines, glass lines, beer lines, or PET, we have solutions that fit the unique challenges of every customer in the region.”
The debut of the 8-Cavity Rotary Blower
Sidel’s new 8-cavity rotary blower, launched under the Synergy brand, is designed for medium-speed bottling applications. With a capacity of 12,000–18,000 bottles per hour, it allows bottlers in emerging economies to start lean and scale operations up to 100,000 bottles per hour as demand increases.
“This solution is built with scalability in mind,” added Mr. Navin Tiwari, sales director – Synergy. “It’s a cost-effective answer to the needs of developing markets like Southeast Asia, India, Latin America, and parts of Eastern Europe. We are confident this introduction will be a game-changer.”
Sustainability through innovation
Sidel continues to lead with sustainability embedded in its innovation roadmap. According to Mr. Kathuria, up to 75% of a PET bottle’s cost is from the plastic itself — making right-weighting essential for economic and environmental sustainability.
“Our focus is on right-weighting, not just lightweighting,” he emphasized. “A 5.5g bottle that collapses in the supply chain is not sustainable. It must meet performance, logistics, shelf life, and even consumer perception standards.”
Next-Gen coating and filling technologies
Another key innovation is Actis™, Sidel’s proprietary coating technology that applies a hydrogenated amorphous carbon layer to enhance shelf life and barrier performance, particularly in single-serve packs.
“We are one of only two companies globally offering this technology,” said Mr. Kathuria. “It is critical for carbonated drinks and teas where PET’s porosity limits performance.”
He also highlighted EVO Fill, Sidel’s advanced filling solution for carbonated beverages, capable of operating at higher temperatures — leading to energy efficiency and improved line performance.
Affordable, end-to-end bottling solutions
Beyond standalone machines, the Synergy portfolio includes complete line engineering — from blowers and fillers to labellers, conveyors, packers, and palletizers. Entry-level linear blowers start at €50,000–60,000, making industrial-grade bottling technology accessible to smaller players.
“It’s about democratizing technology,” said Mr. Kathuria. “We aim to build long-term relationships with customers from the start and grow with them.”
Strategic growth and future outlook
With the rotary blower’s exhibition debut at ProPak Asia 2025, Sidel marks a major milestone in expanding the Synergy brand across Asia and other developing regions.
“This show marks a new beginning — we are here to stay, and you will see much more from us in future editions,” Mr. Kathuria concluded.
Sidel’s impactful presence at ProPak Asia 2025 underscored its commitment to delivering inclusive, scalable, and sustainable packaging solutions. With the Synergy brand, a sharpened focus on right-weighting and energy-saving technologies, and an unwavering innovation pipeline, Sidel is steering the future of packaging toward greater accessibility, performance, and responsibility.
