Gurgaon: Holi celebrations outside a liquor vend in Badshapur turned violent after a confrontation between two groups led to a firing incident on Wednesday afternoon.Police said one round was fired during the altercation but no injuries were caused in the incident.The complainant, a resident of Mohammadpur Jharsa, alleged that he and his friends went to Savanna Ahata on the day of the incident around 2–2.30pm, where they got into an argument with another group present there. The verbal spat escalated into a physical fight between the two sides.An officer privy to the investigation said, “Before the firing, there was a normal altercation between the two parties. The argument turned into a fight and both sides sustained minor injuries during the scuffle.” “One round was fired and it appears to have been aerial firing,” the officer added.Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered under relevant sections of BNS and the Arms Act on Wednesday.Police are still verifying details about the weapon used in the incident. “At this stage, we are verifying whether the weapon was licensed or not,” the officer said.Investigators are also examining whether the shot was fired inside or outside the premises of the liquor vend. “The complainant said it was fired outside the ahata. We are checking and verifying the facts,” the officer added.Details about the accused are still being ascertained. CCTV footage from the area is being analysed and further investigation is underway.
