Shivamogga: A sexual harassment case was filed against Dr K Ashwin Hebbar, a surgeon at McGann District Hospital, at the Shivamogga women’s police station.A student at Shivamogga Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) filed a complaint with the police. According to the complaint, the incident occurred during dinner at a hotel on June 14. Shivamogga SP GK Mithun Kumar told TOI that a case was registered against Dr Ashwin at the women’s police station. “We have not made any arrests in the case,” he stated on Monday.Dr Thimmappa, medical superintendent at McGann Hospital, confirmed to TOI that while an internal investigation is ongoing, the student also registered a complaint with the police. A committee comprising senior women doctors is examining the case and has issued a notice to the accused, he explained.
