Kukanur (Koppal): In a gesture underscoring communal harmony, Mahadev Swamiji, head of the Annadaneshwar Mutt branch in the town, visited the Jamia Masjid on the evening of Feb 5 and formally invited members of the Muslim community to participate in the RSS centenary celebrations and the Hindu Samajotsava scheduled to be held on Feb 8.Addressing those present, the seer said that the Jamia Masjid, which holds historical significance in the town, long stood as a symbol of religious harmony. He praised Kukanur taluk for being a shining example of Hindu-Muslim unity and peaceful coexistence. “There is love, trust, and an unbreakable bond between people of all communities here, which is truly commendable,” he said, adding that this tradition of harmony must be preserved and strengthened for future generations.
Basanagouda Tondihal echoed these sentiments, stating that Kukanur taluk continues to reflect mutual respect, trust, and unity among different communities and remains a centre of communal harmony. Andappa Jawali said the Hindu Samajotsava should be celebrated as a collective festival without any distinction between Hindus and Muslims.Accepting the invitation, Muslim Anjuman Committee president Rashid Ahmed Kanajgiri said there was no place for caste or religious discrimination in the region. “Humanity is bigger than any religion. We believe everyone is the same, and we should live by upholding human values,” he said.Muslim leaders assured their participation in the programme, reaffirming their commitment to communal harmony.
