Itanagar: Security forces recovered an improvised explosive device (IED) from Nangtaw village in Piyong circle in Arunachal Pradesh’s Namsai district on Saturday, police said, reports Joken Ete.The IED was recovered during a routine operation by Assam Rifles, who reported the recovery to police, Namsai SP Sange Thinley said on Sunday. He said the IED is possibly old and that security forces are examining it. A bomb squad will diffuse the recovered IED on Sunday, the SP said.The official said security has been beefed up in the whole of Namsai district in view of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations. On July 17, Assam Rifles had recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition during a search operation in Miao, Changlang district.
