Patna: Motorcycle-borne miscreants shot dead a private school owner in Samastipur district on Sunday. The incident occurred on Tajpur-Hali road near Daraniya bridge in Tajpur police station area.The incident sparked widespread outrage, with locals blocking the NH-28 and demanding immediate action against the perpetrators.
The deceased was identified as Ganesh Sahni (30), a resident of Mirzapur village under Songar panchayat.According to eyewitnesses, Sahni was returning home from a tuition class in Harpur Bhindi village when the attackers ambushed him, killing him on the spot.Following the incident, a large crowd gathered at the spot and blocked the NH-28. Soon personnel from Tajpur and Halai police stations reached the spot and controlled the situation.Samastipur SP, Arvind Pratap Singh, said: “After killing Sahni, the criminals fled towards Halai. The district intelligence unit (DIU) and forensic experts are engaged in the probe.”Singh further stated that the assailants are being identified on the basis of CCTV footage from the area. The killers will be nabbed soon, he said.“The reason behind the murder is not clear yet. The matter is under investigation by a police team led by Sadar SDPO-1. An FIR was filed in this regard,” the SP added.
