Amravati: Satyam Gandhi on Monday officially assumed charge as the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Amravati Zilla Parishad following his appointment in a recent administrative reshuffle by the Maharashtra government. The reshuffle, carried out by the General Administration Department, included a key exchange posting between Amravati and Sangli.Gandhi previously served as commissioner of the Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad Municipal Corporation, where he earned recognition for his focus on civic administration and discipline. Meanwhile, outgoing Amravati Zilla Parishad CEO Sanjita Mohapatra has been appointed commissioner of the Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad Municipal Corporation. Mohapatra, who was acknowledged for her effective tenure in Amravati, was accorded a warm farewell by officers and staff.Soon after taking charge, Satyam Gandhi convened a meeting with heads of various departments. He emphasized that the effective implementation of central and state government welfare schemes at the grassroots level would be a key priority. He also highlighted rural development, education, and healthcare as focus areas during his tenure.On his first day, Gandhi visited various departments and interacted with officers and staff. He reviewed attendance records and enquired about absent employees. Emphasizing accountability, he instructed staff to maintain proper entries in the movement register during field visits and issued a strict warning against indiscipline and corruption.He also reviewed the existing scanner-based system used for scheduling meetings with the CEO and cross-verified its implementation by testing it on his mobile phone.
