Vadodara: Deputy chief minister and minister of state for home Harsh Sanghavi on Friday inaugurated and launched projects worth Rs 538 crore in the city, including a state-of-the-art police command and control centre.The facility, named Netram, will integrate surveillance cameras installed by govt agencies and private entities. At present, 1,316 cameras across the city have been linked to the system. Sanghavi said the centre will be upgraded with artificial intelligence in the future, enabling features such as facial recognition and automatic numberplate recognition.The command centre has been set up on the eighth floor of Police Bhavan on Jail Road. It is the second such facility in the city after the Vadodara Municipal Corporation’s control centre at Badamdi Baug.Sanghavi also inaugurated a new office building for the joint charity commissioner and the public trust registration office near Polo Ground. The office, which earlier operated from an old structure at the same location, has been rebuilt at a cost of Rs 4.12 crore.
