Bhiwani: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday announced development works worth over Rs 107 crore for Tosham and adjoining areas, while also saying that 2,500 trained patwaris would be deployed across the state within a week to strengthen land administration.Addressing the Advanced Irrigation Festival 2026 in Tosham, Saini also dismissed opposition claims of a fuel shortage, saying adequate stocks of petrol, diesel and LPG were available across Haryana.He said the proposed e-Bhoomi portal for land aggregation for the planned Industrial Model Township (IMT) in Tosham would be launched next week and assured farmers that land would be acquired only through a consent-based process with fair compensation.Reiterating the govt’s agriculture focus, Saini said procurement of 24 crops at minimum support price (MSP) was being ensured. He said mustard procurement had begun on March 28, while wheat procurement would start from April 1 with all arrangements in place.He also said that over the past 11 years, around Rs 16,160 crore had been disbursed towards crop loss compensation and under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.Among the projects announced for the region were a Rs 97.96 crore sewerage and water supply expansion scheme in Dinod, road works, power infrastructure, upgrades to education facilities and other civic projects.Saini said the state was also working on power and irrigation reforms, including a proposed Haryana Agri DISCOM for farm power supply and plans to reclaim 1.4 lakh acres of saline land for cultivation.Irrigation minister Shruti Choudhry, who was also present, said the state was investing Rs 5,700 crore in canal remodelling and Rs 450 crore for augmentation of the Ghaggar drain.The chief minister also highlighted welfare initiatives, including assistance under the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, and claimed that around 25,000 jobs had been generated in Bhiwani district.Earlier, Saini paid floral tributes to former chief ministers Bansi Lal and Surender Singh, and visited an exhibition on drip irrigation.
