Hazaribag: As many as 230 CCTV cameras have been set up in key locations across the city to carry out surveillance on the Ram Navami processions, the district administration said.As many as 55 permanent and 175 temporary CCTV units have been installed at Indrapuri Chowk, Kallu Chowk, Sadar Hospital Water Tank, Pagoda Chowk, Jhanda Chowk, Malviya Marg, Kalibadi Marg, Bara Akhara, Mahavir Mandal Chowk, Mahesh Soni Chowk, Ashok Chowk, Masjid Road, Bara Bazar Chowk, Sardar Chowk, Old Bus Stand Chowk, Korra Chowk, Matwari Chowk and Zila Parishad Chowk.Visuals from these cameras will be monitored at the control room in real time. That apart, drone cameras will be deployed in 20 sensitive and highly sensitive areas, an official said. Besides drones and CCTVs, eight fire engines will be stationed at Chhotki Gwal Toli Chowk, Sadar Police Station, Indrapuri Chowk, Collectorate Chowk and Sardar Chowk. Six anti-riot vehicles will be deployed on sensitive routes, officials said.Deputy Commissioner Shashi Prakash Singh said, “Strict legal action will be taken against anyone found taking the law into their own hands or indulging in anti-social activities.” He urged the residents to maintain discipline during the festival. “The festival draws lakhs of devotees each year.
