Prayagraj: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday slammed the BJP govt, saying it has spent Rs 60,000 crore on the development of Prayagraj in past 10 years, but the River Ganga has yet not been cleaned.“Dirty drains are flowing into the Yamuna River. Traffic congestion remains a major problem. There is no accessible and affordable medical care… If SP comes to power in 2027, the city will see all-round development,” said Yadav, who was in Prayagraj to atten an iftar event organised by industrialist and former Union minister Saleem Iqbal Sherwani.Exuding confidence in his party’s performance in the next assembly polls, the former UP CM said that every district will find a special mention in its manifesto. On the controversy surrounding Swami Avimukteshwaranand, he said that the BJP uses every trick to harass its opponents. “Former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has also received justice from a court, which was fully expected from the judiciary,” he said. After the iftar event, Yadav said: “We embrace each other on festivals. This is our Hindustaniyat (Indianness). This is the biggest identity of our country. People have been living together here for centuries.”
