Chennai: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Arakkonam seized 3kg of dry ganja worth about 1.5 lakh during a check on March 21 as part of heightened election surveillance.Officials said the contraband was found in three unclaimed bags hidden near a lavatory in a general coach of Train No 12296 (Danapur–SMVT Express).The bags were noticed during routine inspection, following which they were secured and examined by RPF personnel.The seized narcotics have been handed over to the Prohibition Enforcement Wing (PEW) for further investigation and legal action.
