Bengaluru: A 28-year-old rowdy was hacked to death by a gang of assailants in front of his house at Amarajyothi Layout in Thanisandra Wednesday night. The attack was witnessed by his mother.The deceased, Pawan Kumar, was a rowdy-sheeter at DJ Halli police station and involved in three criminal cases, including murder in July 2023. He was released on bail eight months ago.Pawan’s mother, Komala, said he ran a bakery at Rajanukunte in Bengaluru Rural district. She called Pawan around 9.30pm, and he said he was on his way home. While feeding her grandchild in the compound, she noticed six men arriving on three motorcycles, all wearing helmets. She grew suspicious, as it was unusual for people in the locality to wear helmets.“I ran towards the gate. The miscreants blocked the entrance; they chased my son to the gate and hacked him to death right in front of me,” Komala said.
