Ahmedabad: A minor altercation over boarding an autorickshaw allegedly escalated into a fatal assault, leading to the death of a 25-year-old man in the Vatva area of Ahmedabad on Sunday evening. Police have arrested two men — Kishna Khare and Arun Chunara — for allegedly murdering Suleman Sheikh, who lives near Chandola Lake.According to a complaint lodged by Suleman’s wife, Jetul, at the Vatva police station on Monday, her husband, who worked as a scrap collector, had left home with his acquaintances — Tarikul, Sadik, and Samirul — for routine waste-picking work on Sunday.Later that night, the family was alerted by a local boy that Suleman was lying unconscious near Garib Nawaz Masjid at Chandola Lake. When Jetul rushed to the spot, she found her husband unresponsive, with her brother Din Islam and neighbour Anwar Mohammad already present.As per the complaint, the incident occurred around 7.45pm when Suleman and others were attempting to board a rickshaw near the Vatva vegetable market. During this time, an argument broke out with one of the accused, Khare, over seating in the vehicle.Despite attempts by others to intervene, Khare allegedly assaulted Suleman, hitting him against the rickshaw pipe and grabbing him by the neck. The situation further escalated when another accused, Chunara, allegedly arrived at the scene, slapped Suleman in anger, causing him to collapse.Suleman was immediately rushed to LG Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.Based on the complaint, Vatva police have registered a case of murder against the two accused.
