Haveri: Valuable items worth about Rs 24 lakh were stolen from a moving truck on Thursday night, on the Bengaluru-Pune national highway between Haveri and Ranebennur. The looted goods included mobile phones and dry fruits belonging to a private online marketing company. The truck was owned by Mallikjaan Mulla, who was transporting the company’s goods from Bengaluru to Dharwad. Robbers broke the Linkit device installed on the truck to do away with the stolen goods. After the device was broken, an alert message was immediately sent to the company, prompting them to call the truck driver. When the driver stopped and checked the truck, the theft was discovered. A case was registered at the Ranebennur rural police station.
