New Delhi: A 20-year-old youth was fatally stabbed in a road rage incident in east Delhi‘s Geeta Colony on Friday night. The scuffle began when his scooter grazed another two-wheeler and the three men astride allegedly assaulted and stabbed the victim.The deceased, Yash, was the only son of his parents. Police have apprehended the three accused. The cops said that while Mohammed Aman and Lucky were both in their early twenties, the third accused’s age was being verified.There was tension in the area after Yash’s family claimed that he was killed for befriending a girl from another community. A Rapid Action Force contingent and police personnel were deployed in the area, a senior police officer confirmed.According to police, a hospital informed them around 9.40pm on Friday that a man, aged 19-20 years, had been brought dead with a stab injury on his lower back. The cops started an investigation and recorded the statement of the family. It became clear that Yash was riding his scooter back home when he got into an argument with some men after his two-wheeler grazed theirs.“After a heated quarrel, the men threatened Yash and chased after him till the Pusta Geeta Colony flyover,” said a police officer. “Aman then allegedly stabbed Yash in the lower back there.” Yash was rushed to the hospital by a friend, but succumbed to his injuries by the time they reached help.Yash’s mother, Rakhi, claimed that the murder was the result of an old personal enmity. Demanding justice for her son, the distraught mother said, “A few days ago, some people came to our house and threatened Yash. But nobody did anything and I have now lost my son.”Yash’s cousins claimed that the assailants blocked his way, held him at gunpoint and then stabbed him. The family also said that around five people were present at the site of the crime. The cops said they were verifying these claims and would take strong action against the accused.Last week, a man was dragged for 20 metres by a car after an argument with its driver who allegedly rammed the man’s scooter and tried to run over him in central Delhi’s Daryaganj. In Pandav Nagar, a businessman was attacked by a sharp object and beaten after his vehicle accidentally brushed against a motorbike. The three accused had fled with the businessman’s SUV afterwards.
