Ahmedabad: A traffic head constable was injured when a two-wheeler rider who he signalled to stop, knocked him down at high speed near Sanand bridge underpass on SG Road on Thursday morning. The rider, a woman, has been booked for negligent driving. The 40-year-old traffic cop, Jayesh Jadav filed a complaint with SG-2 traffic police. The complaint states that Jadav was on duty as in-charge of Interceptor-05 of the city traffic branch. Around 9.30am on Thursday, Jadav and his team were conducting routine checks near the Sanand bridge underpass. Police said the Interceptor vehicle was stationed on the roadside when Jadav signalled the rider to stop. The rider, identified as Mahima Shakyavan (24), a resident of Vraj Dham Flats near Ujala Hotel in Sarkhej, allegedly sped towards him and hit him before he could move to safety.Jadav suffered a fractured left thumb, injuries to the forehead and knees. Shakyavan and Janvi Gangwal (25), who was riding pillion, suffered facial injuries. All three were rushed to a hospital near Makarba underpass in a 108 ambulance and admitted to the ICU. tnn
