Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday reviewed plans for the development of major temples and pushkar ghats situated along the Godavari river basin, stretching from Basara to Bhadrachalam. He held a review meeting in the assembly committee hall to discuss arrangements and facilities required for the successful conduct of Godavari Pushkarams, with focus on completing key works by June 2027.Officials made a detailed presentation to the chief minister on the plans formulated for various works to be undertaken for the pushkarams. Subsequently, Revanth directed officials to constitute a committee of technical engineers to identify suitable locations for organising the event. The committee was told to conduct field visits and submit its report to the committee of officials within 20 days.The committee of officials should examine the report submitted by the engineers’ committee and forward it, along with comprehensive cost estimates, to the cabinet sub-committee. Following the approval of the cabinet sub-committee, the full cabinet would take the final decision regarding the report on these plans, Revanth said.He said that the plans should be structured to ensure the timely completion of both permanent and temporary works according to a prioritised schedule. To prevent any lack of coordination among various govt departments, the chief minister ordered the establishment of a dedicated ‘War Room’ at Praja Bhavan.He also directed that measures be taken to expand ghats at major temples and key tourist destinations. Officials were told to take necessary steps to ensure that there are no issues related to infrastructure and connectivity between various regions. They also briefed the CM on the master plan for the development and expansion of the Basara Sri Gnana Saraswati Temple, following which Revanth offered suggestions for further improvement.
