HYDERABAD: CM A Revanth Reddy‘s statement at a public meeting on Friday that he will continue in the post (CM’s chair) for 10 years drew sharp criticism from the ruling party MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy.Rajgopal Reddy, in a post on X, found fault with Revanth’s claim, stating it was against the party’s (AICC’s) procedure of democratically electing a CM. “None of the dedicated, committed, and loyal workers and leaders of Congress will tolerate such claims. There is a system in the party to elect the CM candidate,” he said.Responding to Rajgopal’s post, AICC secretary A Sampath Kumar said there was nothing inappropriate in Revanth’s statement. “The CM only shared the people’s expectations. Rajgopal’s cabinet berth issue will be handled by the party high command,” he added.Rajgopal Reddy, younger brother of roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, has been an aspirant for the ministerial berth and is reportedly unhappy with the party for ‘ignoring’ him in the recent cabinet expansion.
