Hyderabad: Former minister T Harish Rao alleged on Sunday that, while the state’s roads are riddled with potholes, chief minister Revanth Reddy‘s vision appears blurred. Addressing roadshows in Zaheerabad municipality, he said, “Streetlights in alleys are not being replaced, yet Revanth’s language has become that of a street rowdy.“He criticised the Congress govt, claiming it had failed to manage the Mission Bhagiratha initiative that KCR had worked hard to establish.“Since Revanth took office, there has been no fogging for mosquito control, and fraud is rampant in the administration. Under his rule, schemes for the poor are halted, while scams benefiting Congress leaders are thriving. Revanth has accomplished nothing for the people — he has no achievements to boast about. That’s why he speaks venomously against KCR. His governance is chaotic, not a sign of progress,” Harish added.Harish also pointed out that Revanth oversees the municipal department but has allowed municipalities to become littered with rubbish.“Since Congress came to power, Zaheerabad has stagnated, with no development taking place. KCR developed the towns, installed butterfly lights, and provided spaces for all communities. When questioned about the 2,500 promised to women, he remains silent. Instead, he issues notices against us,” Harish remarked. “If you give me notices or file cases against me, will it fill the stomachs of the poor? No matter how many notices you issue, I won’t be afraid. We will continue to push until the Mahalakshmi funds are released,” he asserted.Harish declared that Congress has no right to discuss minority welfare. He highlighted that when BRS questioned why a ministerial position was not given to the Muslim minority during two years of Congress rule, they eventually appointed Azharuddin to a ministerial post. The former minister emphasised that BRS is a secular party, stating, “We are people of integrity. In KCR’s 10 years of governance, there wasn’t a single Hindu-Muslim conflict in the state.” However, he noted that under Revanth’s rule, there have already been 60 communal conflicts. He also alleged that the MIM party is aligning with the BJP in Maharashtra, where they shared the positions of mayor and deputy mayor with the BJP. “How can we trust them to talk about secularism in Zaheerabad while they are collaborating with the BJP there?” he said MSID:: 128072840 413 |
