Lucknow: The two-day regional training camp for officers for the field work for the National Household Income Survey to be be carried out between Apr 1 and Mar 31 next year, began on Wednesday.The exercise will be carried out by the National Statistical Office’s Field Operations Division under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. The camp inaugurated under the chairmanship of Dr Suchita Gupta, deputy director General, Regional Office, is being held at Lucknow University’s second campus. Manoj Kumar, deputy director general, CQCD, Regional Office, Lucknow, was the chief guest. Dr Gupta underlined the significance of the National Household Income Survey and said it is being conducted for the first time in the country. She said the survey aims to study and analyze different aspects of household income and will help in understanding the structural distribution of income across households. Manoj Kumar stressed the importance of training camps in ensuring effective field operations. Purushottam Verma, director, CQCD Zonal Office, Lucknow, said the success of any survey depends on public cooperation and accurate information from respondents. He appealed to families to assist survey teams during visits and assured that all information shared would remain confidential and be used only for development planning, policy formulation and research.
