“The President represents the Adivasi community. The Trinamool government insulted her and did not receive her despite her holding the highest office. The President, known for her simplicity, had to express her grievance,” Modi said at the Brigade rally in Kolkata.

Modi said infiltrators posed the biggest threat to Bengal’s “roti, beti and maati”. “Infiltrators are snatching jobs from the youth and grabbing land, leading to demographic changes in Bengal. Bengali Hindus are being turned into a minority while appeasement politics is being practised by the present government. Trinamool opposed citizenship for Hindu refugees for vote-bank politics,” he said.

Claiming the countdown for change had begun, Modi said that once the BJP came to power, “every culprit, infiltrator and those indulging in appeasement politics will be behind bars”. “Trinamool and the perpetrators will have to pay for every crime committed,” he said.
The prime minister also inaugurated projects worth ₹18,600 crore. “Four days ago, the Cabinet approved multi-tracking railway projects that will enhance connectivity in Bengal and benefit farmers, businessmen and youth. Bengal’s youth are talented and hardworking…,” he said.
