Gumla: The Gumla administration has prepared fully to conduct a free, fair, safe and peaceful urban local body poll, completing all necessary training and randomisation of polling parties on Saturday.About 39,000 voters will cast votes to elect one chairperson from among nine women candidates and 22 ward councillors out of a total of 120 candidates, including 54 women nominees, who are contesting the election to the Gumla Nagar Parishad (GNP).“There will be 44 polling stations housed in 26 buildings spread over 22 wards’ territories, while a total 39,290 voters — 18,524 males and 20,765 females — will exercise their franchise for the GNP poll,” said returning officer Rajiv Kumar.On Friday, sector magistrate and receiving staff training concluded, while the two rounds of randomisation of polling parties and all necessary training sessions of polling parties were completed, an officer added.
