RANCHI: Three members of a family, living in Kadru area of the city, attempted suicide on Monday. While a 24-year-old man, identified as Mihir Akhouri, died in the attempt, the remaining two, including his 50-year-old Sneha mother and minor sister, were admitted to a private hospital after they consumed poison.“The body of the deceased man has been sent for post-mortem examination,” Argora police station in-charge Anil Kumar Tiwari told TOI. Tiwari said, “As per information received from the neighbours, the family is not well-off financially, which might have triggered the incident. However, we are investigating the matter to ascertain the exact reasons.” Mihir was a chartered accountant while his mother is a lawyer.The girl is studying in a college in the city. “The incident came to light at around 2.30 pm on Monday, when a neighbour inquired about the family after hearing some noise ,” Tiwari said.
