Rajkot: A Rajkot-based drone motor manufacturing startup incubated at Saurashtra University’s incubation centre has earned global recognition by securing a place among India’s top deep-tech innovators.Indepro Dynamics has been selected for the prestigious India Innovates 2026 event, to be held in Nice, France, from June 14 to 16. The event, part of the expanding India-France innovation partnership, will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron and will showcase India’s top 100 deep-tech startups before global investors, industry leaders and policymakers.Indepro Dynamics is the only manufacturing-sector startup from Gujarat selected for the event by the core committee headed by the principal scientific adviser to the Union govt and comprising representatives from the IITs.The company has developed a range of indigenous drone motors under its Hummingbird, Falcon, Eagle and Condor series, catering to agriculture, security, defence, industrial monitoring and smart city applications. According to the company, drones powered by its motors can remain airborne for over an hour, compared with the 40-45 minutes typically offered by conventional systems.Specialising in drone propulsion systems and high-performance motors, the startup manufactures more than 20 motor variants for drones weighing between 100 grams and 100 kilograms. Its products have been supplied to organisations including the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).Calling the selection a dream come true, CEO Parag Jobanputra said representing India before global investors in the presence of the leaders of India and France was a proud moment.“An entire ecosystem has helped take a Rajkot-made product to the global stage. Saurashtra University’s StartUp Cell provided incubation support, infrastructure and guidance from the beginning, while Gujarat’s startup-friendly policies played a key role in advancing our research. The collaboration between academia and industry is strengthening the Make in India mission,” he said.Chief technical officer Jaydeep Viramgama said the global drone industry has long depended on Chinese-made motors despite concerns over reliability.“We have developed 20 motor variants that meet international standards of quality and energy efficiency. Our products offer significantly higher reliability and can be game-changers for data security and hardware self-reliance in defence and strategic sectors,” he said.Viramgama added that participation in the France event is expected to open avenues for international funding, technology partnerships and access to European markets.“Our vision is to make India a global hub for drone propulsion systems, reducing dependence on imported motors and enabling exports of world-class technology. We have also been invited by the Indian govt to participate in an exhibition in Taiwan in 2027, which is a matter of great pride for us,” he added.
