Jaipur: Higher education minister Prem Chand Bairwa Monday said the govt will consider renaming Kota University in the name of Swami Vivekanand, as proposed by a member in the Assembly. He said the govt will bring a proposal to the Cabinet, which, after approval, will be presented in the Assembly.
He also said 53 institutions in the state received NAAC accreditation, of which 50 were done under BJP govt. Addressing the land transfer of Maharaja College and Maharani College, Bairwa said that the university administration wrote to the district collector regarding this, and the matter is being taken up by the state govt, with work underway to get the land transferred back.
He added that under Congress govt, 223 assistant professor positions were filled in 2 years, while BJP govt appointed 1,014. The process of filling vacant college education positions is underway, he said.
