The Lieutenant Governor Office has approved a formal change in the name of “Raj Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir,” which will henceforth be known as “Lok Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir.” The decision follows a communication issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
According to the official notification, the new nomenclature has been adopted with immediate effect, bringing the Union Territory in line with the updated administrative directive issued by the Ministry.
The order clearly states that Raj Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir, shall henceforth be referred to only as Lok Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir. All future correspondence, documentation and official references will now reflect the revised name.
The notification came into force immediately upon issuance. (GNS)
