Kanpur: The food safety department raided a famous Peda shop in Sarrafa Bazar in Orai city of Jalaun on Wednesday after complaints that several children fell ill after eating the sweets from the shop.A team of the department, along with CO city Rajeev Kumar Sharma and police force reached the shop and inspected. Officials examined the quality of the sweets and collected samples to send to the laboratory. The officials said further action will be decided only after the report comes in. It was reported that some children fell ill after eating pedas distributed as prasad. The health department was notified, following which the food safety department swung into action. The children are under tretament and their condition is reported to be improving. tnn
