Ranchi : The discussion on radiology’s growing role in reshaping patient care and enabling complex surgeries took centre stage at the 22nd Annual Jharkhand State Radiological Conference held on Sunday. Themed “Clinical Radiology: Unveiling Hidden Realms,” the event gathered faculty and medical experts from Delhi, Pune, Jamshedpur, and other cities, focusing on how imaging is becoming indispensable to modern healthcare while raising concerns over its rising cost and dependence on imported technologies.Director of Rims, Dr Raj Kumar, said precision imaging now plays a critical role in early diagnosis, accurate treatment planning, and overall clinical outcomes.Ranchi civil surgeon Dr Prabhat Kumar, stated, “Taking inspiration from this event, starting from Monday we’re starting MRI services at Sadar Hospital, along with our existing CT scans. We’ve also received mammography machines that will help in early detection of breast tumours,” he added.
