Purulia: Six hospital staff in Purulia — including a doctor and two nurses — have been issued show-cause notices after a Trinamool candidate entered an operating theatre (OT) at Raghunathpur Super Speciality Hospital and filmed proceedings last Thursday. Hazari Bauri, a teacher and a Trinamool candidate from Raghunathpur was seen inside the OT wearing medical gloves.In a Facebook post, Bauri said he visited the hospital after campaigning late at night and found several people injured in a road accident, with one critically hurt near Jhapra More. Bauri allegedly assists with hospital admissions often, but he went further on this occasion, entering the OT and observing a surgical procedure in the presence of medical staff.Images from the post were widely shared, drawing criticism from BJP and disapproval within his own party. The state Health and Family Welfare Department has since issued show-cause notices to six staff members — one doctor, two nurses, two ward boys and a dresser — for allowing the breach.
