Chandigarh: Punjab finance minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Thursday directed banks to clear delays in pension processing and fix gaps in the Pensioner Sewa Portal, warning that future pension reimbursement claims would depend on their performance.At a review meeting, Cheema took stock of delays in submission of Jeevan Pramaan Patras (JPPs), pending PPO PDFs, and discrepancies in uploaded records.He said release of pension reimbursement claims for subsequent months would be linked to tangible progress made by banks in clearing pending work.The minister also directed banks to upload error-free scrolls, remove discrepancies flagged by district treasury officers, and complete integration of their software with the portal at the earliest.
