Pune: Dr Parag Sahasrabudhe, a senior consultant cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgeon from Pune, has been awarded the honorary fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS Ed). The formal ceremony was held recently at the college’s historic campus in Edinburgh, UK.The honorary FRCS is one of the highest recognitions granted by the Royal College — established in 1505 — to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the field of surgery through academic excellence, publications and clinical leadership. Such fellowships are awarded sparingly and without examination.Dr Sahasrabudhe, who serves as director of Revive Laser Centre and is the head of the plastic surgery department at the state govt-run B J Government Medical College and Sassoon General Hospital. He is also a postgraduate teacher and examiner in plastic surgery across India. He is the first plastic surgeon from the city to receive this distinction.
